As a trial attorney for over forty years, I did a lot of background work before choosing an editor. What initially drew my attention to Donnella was her detailed editing process. 

 

Her attention to detail was mindboggling. My favorite story about her thoroughness will always be the Church's Fried Chicken catch. I had a line 263 pages into the story that went like this: “My customers couldn’t care less ... my customers would order a ... sausage biscuit from Church's Chicken on the way home from their cardiologist who had just told them they are going to need quintuple bypass surgery." (Profanity omitted). I received a text message from Donnella that "Church's doesn't sell sausage biscuits." She had pulled up a menu and double-checked me for accuracy. On a breakfast sandwich. I was humbled, took myself to the woodshed for the inaccuracy, and was forced to pull up the Bojangles menu online which does sell artery-closer breakfast sandwiches. If your reaction to this small detail catch is "who cares about something that obscure?" my response is that Donnella cares.

 

That is the kind of detailed editing you can expect from Donnella Looger. If all you need is a copy editor, you can go someplace else.
